Chickpea-Beer Battered Brussels Sprouts

These were one of the more spectacular failures of our bean experiment thus far. I wish I’d taken a picture of them right out of the oven, but I was too busy laughing to remember till after I’d mostly cleaned them up (the photo is a reenactment using component pieces).

In the photo they look kinda like matcha ice cream. Believe me they did not taste nearly that good.

In summary: the batter all fell off and pooled at the bottom, leaving what looked like pathetic thumb print cookies with brussel sprout centers. The recipe warned me of this, but apparently my batter was still too thin. The components were not particularly tasty. I will not be using my one wild and precious life to try this again.
